GALVESTON, TX – Emre Guven, senior vice president and financial services sales director with Moody Bank, was part of the 60th graduating class of Southern Methodist University’s SW Graduate School of Banking and graduated with Recognition for Leadership.

Established in 1957 – and celebrating its 62nd anniversary this year – the SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) has become one of the top banking educational institutions today.  It is a professional school for bank officers, regulators, and others holding management positions in the financial services industry.  SWGSB-SMU meets two weeks annually over three years, bringing into focus and augmenting these managers’ on-the-job experience.  Emphasis is placed on financial management, leadership development, and strategic planning.

Moody Bank Chairman, President, and CEO, Vic Pierson, serves as the Chairman of the Board at SWGSB and presented Guven his diploma at graduation. Pierson said, “Emre is one of our finest up-and-coming leaders. His industry knowledge, work ethic, and revolutionary thinking will undoubtedly benefit Moody Bank as we continue to grow and serve our customers and our communities.” Guven joined Moody Bank in 2014 and has 15 years of banking experience.

Founded in 1907, Moody Bank has served generations of Texans and currently has more than $1 billion in assets and 15 locations throughout greater Houston, Galveston, and Central Texas.
