It is our goal to make the transition from Spirit of Texas Bank to Moody Bank as easy as possible and we realize you may have questions surrounding the transaction. Please see below for further details on what to expect as your checking account moves from Spirit of Texas Bank to Moody Bank. 

Account Number

Your account number will remain the same, however the bank routing number will change to 113100091. You will need to update all ACH information (direct deposit, auto-payments, etc.) with this new routing number. Current payments will continue to process for 30-60 days after the transition but may be delayed. After 60 days, payments with incorrect routing information will be rejected.

 

Debit Card

Your new Moody Bank MasterCard debit card should arrive in the mail prior to October 16, 2020. For security purposes, your new Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be mailed separately. The debit card and PIN will be mailed to the address on file. Please continue using your Spirit of Texas Bank debit card through Sunday, October 18, 2020. There may be a brief period the evening of October 18th when your Spirit of Texas Bank debit card may no longer work. Your Spirit of Texas Bank debit card will no longer work on Monday, October 19, 2020.

 

You may activate your debit card beginning on Monday, October 19, 2020. To activate your Moody Bank debit card, first use it at any ATM or perform a PIN transaction at a local retailer using the PIN provided in the mail. Once you activate your card, you can change your PIN at any Moody Bank ATM or at any Moody Bank banking center.

Your Moody Bank debit card number will not be the same as your Spirit of Texas Bank debit card number, so please update any auto-payments currently linked to your Spirit of Texas Bank debit card to ensure no payments are rejected.

Please notify any banking center prior to travel outside of the United States or making a foreign transaction purchase with your debit card.

 

Checks

You should receive a new set of starter checks in the mail prior to October 16, 2020. Checks will be mailed to the address on file. Please continue using your Spirit of Texas checks until Sunday, October 18, 2020. Beginning October 19, 2020, you will be able to order additional checks online (instructions will be provided with the initial set of checks) or at any Moody Bank banking center location.

 

Online & Mobile Banking

Beginning after business hours on Friday, October 16, 2020, you will only be able to see balance information via your Spirit of Texas Bank online or mobile account. On Monday, October 19, 2020, you will be able to view account information for your Moody Bank account via our online or mobile banking. All scheduled transfers and bill payment information will transition over to your Moody Bank account.

 

To access online banking, visit https://my.moodybank.com/login and enter your existing username (the username used to access your Spirit of Texas Bank online banking). Your password has been reset to the last four digits of the primary account holder’s SSN.  To access mobile banking, please download the Moody Bank mobile app from iTunes or Google Play stores.

Telephone Banking

Beginning Monday, October 19, 2020, you may utilize our telephone banking service for your everyday banking needs. Call us at (833) 571-5854 to access the following functions:

  • Check account balances
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Make loan payments
  • Confirm deposits, withdrawals and check status
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Access transactions

The first time you utilize our telephone banking system, you will need your account number and social security number or EIN. You will be prompted to create a PIN code which will be used for future telephone banking transactions.

At this time, your current banking center will remain open. We also invite you to visit our Clear Lake Banking Center located at 1100 Bay Area Boulevard or any of our 16 locations throughout greater Galveston, Houston and Central Texas.
